The anatomical adaption of a titanium reconstruction plate is not without its challenges in the South African context.


Patients often present with extremely large pathology, leaving few reference points for accurate intra-operative plate contouring.  Even with the best efforts of the surgeon, it may not always ensure good symmetrical results or plate positioning.


Precise uses CT scan data, virtual surgical planning, and 3D printing to help overcome these obstacles.
